Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon hershey's cocoa
  • 1 - 14.5 ounces can petite-diced tomatoes
  • 2 - 16 ounces cans beans (do not rain; use pinto and dark red kidney beans.)

How To Make chili

  • Step 1
    Cook beef, onions and garlic in a large skillet until meat is browned; drain. Transfer to a large pot and add all seasonings and tomatoes (do not add beans). Cover and simmer on low heat for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 2
    After one hour, add beans. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve. NOTE: Recipe can be doubled or tripled.
