This recipe can also be substituted with ground turkey, but adding a little extra spice when using turkey is recommended to prevent a gamey taste.

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, medium
  • 1
    green pepper, medium
  • 1
    red pepper, medium
  • 28 oz
    tomatoes, canned whole
  • 24 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 24 oz
    red kidney beans
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil

How to Make Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook beef in frying pan until done. Drain grease.

    In separate pan, cook chopped onion, red pepper and green pepper with olive oil. Cook until tender.
  2. Mix tomato paste in meat first. Drain whole tomatoes and smash with large spoon and blend with the meat.
  3. In a large pot, mix all remaining ingredients. Cook at medium heat until boiling. Turn to low and cook covered for 25 minutes.
