chili seasoning

tomato juice

tomatoes,diced w/liquid

mrs grimes chili beans

water
1 Tbsp
granulated sugar
1 tsp
red pepper flakes

How to Make Cheryl's Chili

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large pot,over medium heat saute onion, green pepper and garlic in a couple tablespoons of olive oil until translucent, about 10 minutes. Add meat of your choice until cooked and no longer pink.
  • 2Add tomato juice, chili seasoning,tomatoes, chili beans and stir well,add pepper flakes, sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low-simmer for 45 minutes.
  • 3Serve with dollop of sour cream, chopped scallions,shredded cheese and crackers. Great the next day as chili dogs!
  • 4I choose at least 85% lean meat since that reduces fat, if meat seems greasy, before step 2 go ahead and rinse in a colander, return to pot and continue.
