Ingredients
- 1 - onion, chopped
- 1 - green pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 2 pounds ground beef, turkey, lean, your choice
- 1 package chili seasoning
- 14 ounces tomato juice
- 29 ounces tomatoes,diced w/liquid
- 30 ounces mrs grimes chili beans
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
How To Make cheryl's chili

Step 1In a large pot,over medium heat saute onion, green pepper and garlic in a couple tablespoons of olive oil until translucent, about 10 minutes. Add meat of your choice until cooked and no longer pink.

Step 2Add tomato juice, chili seasoning,tomatoes, chili beans and stir well,add pepper flakes, sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low-simmer for 45 minutes.

Step 3Serve with dollop of sour cream, chopped scallions,shredded cheese and crackers. Great the next day as chili dogs!

Step 4I choose at least 85% lean meat since that reduces fat, if meat seems greasy, before step 2 go ahead and rinse in a colander, return to pot and continue.
