This is a family favorite that I make when the weather starts getting even the slightest bit chilly out. That is frequently in the Pacific Northwest. You can adjust the heat to taste by adding more cayenne. Hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Ingredients

  • 5 lb
    ground round
  • 3
    large onions chopped
  • 6 clove
    mince garlic
  • 3 oz
    chili powder. adjust to taste
  • 2
    heaping t cumin
  • 2 tsp
    oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 4 c
    water
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 2 can(s)
    chopped tomatoes
  • 2 can(s)
    el pato hot tomato sauce
  • 1 lg can(s)
    tomato sauce
  • 3 can(s)
    pinto, kidney or black beans
  • 1 can(s)
    refried beans

How to Make Candys' 2 Alarm Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown meat and onion in a large pot. Drain grease and add all other ingredients, reserving refried beans until the last 10 minutes of cooking. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
