How To Make aunt squishy’s winter white chili
-
Step 1Prep: Dice the onion, chop the kale, and drain and rinse the beans until bubbles stop forming on top.
-
Step 2Combine all of the base ingredients in a slow cooker or Crock Pot and cook on low for 4 hours.
-
Step 3Add sugar and vinegar, and let cook approximately 10 minutes before adding the butter and stirring until melted.
-
Step 4Add bouillon, Worcestershire, liquid smoke, coriander, and cayenne pepper. Stir well and turn off the heat.
-
Step 5Allow to cool until the temperature reaches approximately 150-160 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent curdling. (Approximately 10 minutes, depending on your slow cooker.)
-
Step 6Pour heavy cream into a medium bowl, and slowly add 1 cup of liquid from the Crock Pot while whisking continuously to temper the cream.
-
Step 7Once tempered, add the cream mixture to the Crock Pot and stir well before adding the lemon juice.
