This was my grandmothers soup recipe.

Ingredients

  • 8 - large boneless chicken breasts
  • 5 cups - chopped carrots
  • 4 cups - chopped celery
  • 2 tblsp - chopped parsley
  • 5 lbs - egg noodles, uncooked
  • jar - chiken soup base
  • 16 oz - chicken broth, non-fat

How To Make my homemade chicken noodle soup

  • Step 1
    Cook chicken breasts in water along with 1 cup celery and carrots until done. When cooked set aside to cool.
  • Step 2
    In an electric roaster add jar of soup base add 3 gallon of water. Cook till it boils and then add remaining carrots, celery and the parsley. set on 300 degrees and let simmer.
  • Step 3
    Shred chicken breasts and add to soup base.
  • Step 4
    Cook noodles according tp package directions. Do not over cook, drain and add to other ingredients. Stir as needed, If soup seems to be to thick add chicken broth.
