This always helps when I'm under the weather. Feels great on a sore throat. Clears your head and tastes great. Mom always saved every piece of the chicken froze it and used it for stock. I do the same. It makes amazing stock so much more flavorful then store bought

Ingredients

  • 4 - chicken thighs
  • 12 - chicken wing tips
  • 1 large onion quartered
  • 16 cups water
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 large carrot quartered
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 6 sprigs thyme
  • 8 ounces cooked noodles drained

How To Make mom's cure for common cold chicken noodle soup

  • Step 1
    Place water in large stock pan. Add salt Chicken thighs and wing tips carrot onion garlic thyme and rosemary. Bring to boil and simmer 2 to 3 hours. Taste and adjust seasonings adding more water if necessary.
  • Step 2
    Remove chicken thighs to cutting board. Remove meat from bone and chop. Strain the chicken broth though fine mesh strainer. Discard solids.
  • Step 3
    Add chicken back to stock and add the noodles.
