Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (cooked)
  • 2 sticks celery (diced)
  • 2 - carrots (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 32 ounces chicken broth, low salt
  • 1 large lemon
  • 2 tablespoons flour

How To Make lemon chicken orzo soup

  • Step 1
    Cook chicken in water in stock pot until tender.
  • Step 2
    Cut up cooked chicken, and return to stock pot.
  • Step 3
    Add chicken broth.
  • Step 4
    Saute celery, carrots, onion, and garlic in butter in small sauce pan. Saute until tender.
  • Step 5
    Add spices to chicken broth mixture.
  • Step 6
    Add orzo.
  • Use the juice from a whole, medium size lemon.  (Make sure to get seeds out of juice.)
    Step 7
    Add lemon juice.
  • Step 8
    Add flour, and cook on low heat for about 45 minutes.
