olive oil
1 medium
red onion finely chopped
4 clove
minced garlic
4 oz
can diced green chilies
2 1/2 c
frozen white shoepeg corn
1/2 c
dry white wine
2 tsp
cumin, chili powder
cayenne pepper to taste
3 can(s)
chicken broth (14oz)
2 can(s)
diced tomatoes (14oz)
2 can(s)
tomatoe sauce (8oz)
2 can(s)
(14oz) black beans drained and rinsed
1/2 c
green onion, sour cream, mild cheddar cheese
tortilla chips fresh or store bought

How to Make homemade chicken tortilla soup


  • 1saute the onions and garlic in large stock pot with the olive oil until onions are soft
  • 2Add green chili corn white wine black beans chicken broth and diced tomatoes and sauce
  • 3bring mixture to a boil about 5 minutes
  • 4turn down the heat and add chopped chicken
  • 5summer on low heat for half an hour stirring occasionally
  • 6Serve the soup topped with fresh tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream and green onions
