This is really good on a cold day . Got this recipe from my sister ,but added my own spices to it. It doesn't last long at our house! The cayenne gives it a little bit of a kick . In our family, we love spicy foods. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 - whole chicken
  • 4-5 stalks - celery
  • 1 package baby carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 1-2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoon parsley
  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 package egg noodles, uncooked
  • 4 - chicken bouillion cubes or 1-2 cans chicken broth

How To Make homemade chicken noodle soup

  • Step 1
    Place a whole chicken in enough water to cover. Cut onion up & add to chicken. Bring to a boil & cook on high for approximately one hour or until chicken falls off the bone. Let cool.
  • Step 2
    Strain broth & remove bones & skin from chicken after cooling. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces. Place chicken back in broth & add remaining ingredients except noodles.Cook for about one hour more.
  • Step 3
    The last 10 minutes of cooking time , add noodles. Cook 10-15 more minutes. Serve with fresh rolls or crackers.
