This is really good on a cold day . Got this recipe from my sister ,but added my own spices to it. It doesn't last long at our house! The cayenne gives it a little bit of a kick . In our family, we love spicy foods. Enjoy!

  • 1
    whole chicken
  • 4-5 stalks
  • 1 pkg
    baby carrots
  • 1 large
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1-2 Tbsp
  • 3 qt
  • 1 pkg
    egg noodles, uncooked
  • 4
    chicken bouillion cubes or 1-2 cans chicken broth

How to Make Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup


  1. Place a whole chicken in enough water to cover. Cut onion up & add to chicken. Bring to a boil & cook on high for approximately one hour or until chicken falls off the bone. Let cool.
  2. Strain broth & remove bones & skin from chicken after cooling. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces. Place chicken back in broth & add remaining ingredients except noodles.Cook for about one hour more.
  3. The last 10 minutes of cooking time , add noodles. Cook 10-15 more minutes. Serve with fresh rolls or crackers.
