Ingredients

  • 1 - whole chicken
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 large eggs
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - more flour for rolling out your noodles

How To Make homemade chicken and noodle soup

  • Step 1
In a large saucepan place your whole chicken, giblets and all. Fill the pot 3/4 of the pan.
  • Step 2
Cook on medium until chicken falls apart, about 1 to 2 hours. You will have to add water to keep the level of water in your pan.
  • Step 3
remove chicken with a strained ladle and let cool down leaving the broth in your saucepan. After removing the chicken, your broth should be at least 1/2 way in the saucepan.
  • Step 4
Make your noodles: 3 cups flour in a medium size bowl. add your baking soda and stir through. make a slight bowl/hole in the middle and add your eggs.
  • Step 5
stir through, it will get a bit stiff.
  • Step 6
    form a ball
  • Step 7
flour your counter and place your dough on top. Form a long round tube and get ready to roll it out.
  • Step 8
I use a marble rolling pin, love that fella! Start rolling using plenty flour on top and bottom. This will be a bit tough to do. Just make sure to have plenty flour!
  • Step 9
After it's all rolled out your ready to start slicing your noodles.
  • Step 10
Use a pizza cutter and slice away! They don't have to be perfect.
  • Step 11
After all is sliced, fluff up folding the flour into your noodles.
  • Step 12
Turn your broth on med high, get a heavy boil going.
  • Step 13
drop all of your noodles in the pan. Using a wooden spoon separate them so they won't all stick together.
  • Step 14
Watch carefully because this is when your water will bubble up and want to over boil all over your stove. You want it to get close, this makes your gravy. When it starts to do that remove from burner. Reduce heat and slowly cook the rest of the way.
  • Step 15
Test your noodles, they should be done in about 15 minutes. Add your chicken pieces.
  • Step 16
serve away! This is so good!
  • Step 17
Probably the least expensive meal and one of the best we have ever had! Good luck and have fun!
