This is very tasty.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
This Crock Pot chicken and dumplings recipe is pure comfort food. Honestly, it takes like what your mom would have made except without all the work. After cooking in the slow cooker, the dish is thick and creamy. The dumplings are seriously perfect, similar to a drop dumpling. Typically carrots aren't added to chicken and dumplings but we loved the sweetness and texture it added to the recipe. If you love chicken and dumplings, add this easy recipe to your recipe box.

How To Make crock pot chicken and dumplings
Test Kitchen Tips
The biscuits do expand so cut them smaller than you think they should be. Also, we used the cream of chicken soup can to fill the slow cooker with water. It took about 4 cans.
-
Step 1Place chicken, cream of chicken soup, butter, celery, and carrots in the Crock Pot. I cut the chicken into bite size pieces.
-
Step 2Add enough water to cover the ingredients. Put the lid on. Cook on high for 5-6 hours.
-
Step 3During the last 30 minutes, cut biscuits into small quarter-sized pieces. Drop into soup mix. Cover and cook the last 30 minutes. Optional: I add a tablespoon of parsley in the beginning.
-
Step 4Salt and pepper to taste.
