I don't recall how I came across this recipe but it is too good not to share. So easy to make and is fantastic! I'm sure there are many recipe collectors out there, but this is one recipe you really must MAKE! Let me know how it turns out :)

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 2 c
    water
  • 2
    boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 pkg
    rice-a-roni long grain & wild rice
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    half and half

How to Make Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine broth, water, carrots, celery, chicken and rice (along with seasoning packet) in a large slow cooker.
  2. Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  3. Take out chicken and shred with two forks and then add back into slow cooker.
  4. In a small bowl combine salt, pepper, and flour.
  5. In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour mixture by tablespoon to form a roux. Whisk in cream, a little at a time, until fully incorporated and smooth.
  6. Stir cream mixture into slow cooker and then let cook on low for 15 more minutes.
