After moving from the East Coast to Arizona, I was introduced to this great tasting soup. My children ate the whole pot the first time I made it in a matter of minutes.

chicken broth
1 can(s)
mild green chile's
1 can(s)
diced canned tomatoes
1 can(s)
corn, drained or frozen
1 pkg
mild taco seasoning
1 small
onion, diced
2 Tbsp
1 large
chicken breast (or turkey breast)
cilantro, fresh

How to Make Chicken Tortilla Soup


  • 1Melt butter in skillet. Add diced onion and cook till softened. Add green chile's, canned tomatoes and taco seasoning. Mix well. Empty skillet into soup pot.
  • 2In same skillet, cook chicken breast in small amount of butter. Cube or shred chicken when cooked. Add to soup pot.
  • 3In large pot add cooked chicken, mixture, broth and corn and cook for 30 minutes on medium low.
  • 4If desired, add cilantro, nacho chips, sour cream, mozzarella cheese or avocado at serving time.
