Ingredients

chicken breasts
15 oz
canned navy beans, drained, rinsed
14 1/2 oz
stewed tomatoes, undrained
3 1/2 c
chicken broth
2 c
carrots, chopped
2 c
cabbage, shredded
1 c
frozen peas
1/2 c
onion, diced
1/2 tsp
fresh thyme, finely chopped
1/2 tsp
salt and pepper
1
bay leaf

How to Make Chicken Stew

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cut chicken breasts in half; salt and pepper. Place in crock pot. Turn on low. Add Navy beans, tomatoes, chicken broth, carrots, cabbage, peas, onion and seasonings. Cover and cook at least 8 hours; or on high for 4 hours.
  • 2After it has cooked, remove the bay leaf and chicken. Discard the bay leaf and shred the chicken and replace into the stew. Salt and pepper to taste.
