chicken or turkey wild rice chowder
I love soups and chowders and this one I made using leftover turkey that my husband had roasted for us. It is so easy and was very creamy and yummy. Hope you think so too.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sliced fresh carrots or 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 - 1/2 cans chicken broth (14 1/2 ounces each)
- 2-2/3 cup cubed cooked chicken or turkey breast
- 1 package (8.8 ounces) ready to serve long grain and wild rice
- 1/4 cup half and half cream
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
How To Make chicken or turkey wild rice chowder

Step 1In a large saucepan or dutch oven kettle, saute the carrots, onion and celery in butter until tender. Stir in flour until blended; gradually add the chicken broth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Once thickened stir in the chicken/turkey, rice, cream and pepper; heat through.
