okra, trimmed
1/2 c
white vinegar
1 c
2 Tbsp
olive oil
2.5 lb
chicken, pieces
1 c
onions, coarsely chopped
2 tsp
minced garlic
28 oz
tomatoes, drained and diced
1/2 c
white wine, dry
1 tsp
1 tsp
cinnamon, ground
"just a pinch" of salt
1/4 tsp
cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp
dried oregano

How to Make Chicken and Okra Stew


  • 1Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2Place the okra in a bowl with the vinegar and water and let soak for 20 minutes then drain and pat dry.
  • 3Combine and gently mix everything together, being careful not to crush the okra.
  • 4Cover the casserole and place it in the preheated oven.
  • 5Immediately reduce the heat to 350 degrees and cook for 40 minutes.
