Ingredients

  • 8 lb
    chicken bones, chopped in half to expose the marrow
  • 1 large
    onion (unpeeled) quartered
  • 2 large
    carrots, quartered
  • 4 ribs
    celery (leaves & all) quartered
  • 4 whole sprig(s)
    parsley
  • 2 whole sprig(s)
    thyme
  • 8 whole
    black peppercorns
  • 3 whole
    cloves
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 clove
    galic, smashed
  • 5 qt
    cold water

How to Make Bunyan's Kickin' Chicken Stock

Step-by-Step

  1. Dump all the ingredients in a large dutch oven
  2. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat
  3. Lower heat to slow simmer
  4. Simmer slowly for 4 hours
  5. Strain in a cheesecloth lined colander
  6. Cool to room temperature
  7. Store in tightly sealed mason jars in the fridge (Keeps about a week)You should get a yield of about a gallon
