- 5 quarts cold water

Step 1Dump all the ingredients in a large dutch oven

Step 2Bring to a rolling boil over high heat

Step 3Lower heat to slow simmer

Step 4Simmer slowly for 4 hours

Step 5Strain in a cheesecloth lined colander

Step 6Cool to room temperature

Step 7Store in tightly sealed mason jars in the fridge (Keeps about a week)You should get a yield of about a gallon
