birds nest soup
The original Chinese recipe calls for an actual birds nest, however, I think you may enjoy this better knowing there is no actual birds nest in this recipe. Edible birds' nests are believed to contain high nutritional benefits and often categorized as a traditional Chinese medicine. When dissolved in water, the birds' nests form a gelatinous texture used for soup. The nest contains high levels of protein, calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium. Supposedly the bird's nest also has a reputation of being an aphrodisiac! Ooooh la la!
