very different cabbage soup!

I call this cabbage soup because it does make its on juices and comes out so wonderful! This is the best with a pan of cornbread!

Ingredients

  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 2-3 large potatoes, sliced as tomatoes
  • 1 package sliced cheese
  • - fried bacon
  • - chopped onions
  • - chopped bell peppers
  • 1 large cabbage head
  • 1 pound ground meat (cooked)

How To Make very different cabbage soup!

  • Step 1
    In a large stainless steel pot...(put 3-4 tbs. butter in bottom of pan) layer cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes, sliced cheese,browned hamburger meat, onions and bell peppers, and cooked bacon(crumbled)IN THAT ORDER! I use Tony Chachere's seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper after each layer!
  • Step 2
    Continue layers and place on stove top on low heat...pour in 4-5 cups of water and place lid on pot. Cook on low heat for an hour to an hour and a half (or until desired consistency) ENJOY!
