    ground beef
  • 1
    large onion, chopped
  • 2
    cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, diced
  • 3-4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 can(s)
    whole kernel corn, or use fresh/frozen corn
  • 3 can(s)
    black beans or kidney beans
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning
  • 1 can(s)
    southwestern tomatoes
  • 3-4 can(s)
    tomato sauce
  • 1 can(s)
    chopped tomatoes
  • ·
    water

How to Make Taco Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large pan or dutch oven, saute the ground beef, onion, garlic and green pepper with butter.
  2. Drain corn; drain and rinse beans.
  3. Add the corn, beans, taco seasoning, southwestern tomatoes, tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, and water to pan.
  4. Adjust the amount of tomato sauce and water to preferred soup consistency.
  5. Mix and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
