Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 - large onion, chopped
  • 2 - cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 - green pepper, diced
  • 3-4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, or use fresh/frozen corn
  • 3 cans black beans or kidney beans
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 can southwestern tomatoes
  • 3-4 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • - water

How To Make taco soup

  • Step 1
    In a large pan or dutch oven, saute the ground beef, onion, garlic and green pepper with butter.
  • Step 2
    Drain corn; drain and rinse beans.
  • Step 3
    Add the corn, beans, taco seasoning, southwestern tomatoes, tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, and water to pan.
  • Step 4
    Adjust the amount of tomato sauce and water to preferred soup consistency.
  • Step 5
    Mix and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
