Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 pounds steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 15 ounces can tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar - firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2 cups carrots, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 1 - green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch squared
- 4 ounces pineapple chunks, drained
- 6 - small loaves sourdough bread, optional
How To Make sweet and sour stew

Step 1Heat oil in skillet and brown round steak.

Step 2Transfer to crockpot or large kettle.

Step 3Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, salt, vinegar, corn syrup, carrots, onions, green pepper and pineapple.

Step 4Cover and simmer for 6 hours or until meat is tender.

Step 5Serve in individual bowls or hollowed-out rounds of bread.
