This is a nice slow cooker soup. I like soups and slow cooking is the best. I like having dinner waiting on me when I get home.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef stew meat-cubed
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 4 cups beef stock
  • 28 ounces tomatoes, canned and cut up-undrained
  • 1 cup sliced carrot
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup snipped celery leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon marjoram, dried-crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried-crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon savory dried-crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried-crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon mace
  • several dash hot pepper sauce

How To Make savory tomato beef soup

  • Step 1
    Trim fat from meat. Place oil and meat in skillet; brown meat and drain.
  • Step 2
    Place browned meat in slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.
  • Step 4
    Skim fat off of soup and stir soup well.
