  • 1 lb
    beef stew meat-cubed
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 4 c
    beef stock
  • 28 oz
    tomatoes, canned and cut up-undrained
  • 1 c
    sliced carrot
  • 1 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/4 c
    snipped celery leaves
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    marjoram, dried-crushed
  • 1/2 tsp
    basil, dried-crushed
  • 1/4 tsp
    savory dried-crushed
  • 1/4 tsp
    thyme, dried-crushed
  • 1/8 tsp
  • several dash(es)
    hot pepper sauce

How to Make Savory Tomato Beef Soup


  1. Trim fat from meat. Place oil and meat in skillet; brown meat and drain.
  2. Place browned meat in slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.
  4. Skim fat off of soup and stir soup well.
