Ingredients
- 1 pound beef stew meat-cubed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 4 cups beef stock
- 28 ounces tomatoes, canned and cut up-undrained
- 1 cup sliced carrot
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup snipped celery leaves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon marjoram, dried-crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried-crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon savory dried-crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried-crushed
- 1/8 teaspoon mace
- several dash hot pepper sauce

Step 1Trim fat from meat. Place oil and meat in skillet; brown meat and drain.

Step 2Place browned meat in slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Step 3Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.

Step 4Skim fat off of soup and stir soup well.
