This is 1 more of my grandmother recipes & I'm so glad my mom thought me how to make it. It does take time to make this, but sometimes if I think I wont have time after work I use my slow cooker & 6 hours later soups on...

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef stew meat
  • 6 to 8 - potatoes, peeled & chunk cut
  • 3 - carrots, cubed
  • 3 - celery stalks, cubed
  • 1 - onion, sliced
  • 1 box beef broth
  • 1 package portuguese sausage, slices & cut in 1/2
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 can kidney beans, canned

How To Make portuguese bean soup

  • Step 1
    First clean & cut all veggies. Placing the each on the side. Then slice both stew meat & sausages. Placing sausage aside. make sure to season meat.
  • Step 2
    In a lager pot brown the stew meat. Then add in the onions & brown. Add in the broth & then add in the potatoes & the beans. Simmer for about 20 mins until meat & potatoes are tender.
  • Step 3
    Then add in the carrots & simmer for another 5 to 10 mins. Then add in the celery & sausage right at the end. Should simmer no more then 5 more mins.
  • Step 4
    Note: If you have the time & a crock pot. You can place everything in there on low and will be ready in 6 hours.
