Ingredients

  • 1 pound polish sausage, cut in 1/2" pieces
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1.5 pounds beef, cubed
  • 2 - onions, sliced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 pound sauerkraut, canned
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon vegetable seasoning

How To Make polish stew

  • Step 1
    Saute sausage 15 minutes, remove to casserole.
  • Step 2
    Add oil to sausage drippings, brown beef in oil, 15 minutes; remove to casserole.
  • Step 3
    Saute onion, add to casserole.
  • Step 4
    Saute mushrooms with sauerkraut and wine; add tomato sauce, soy sauce, caraway seeds and vegetable seasoning.
  • Step 5
    Add this to casserole also, mixing well; cover and bake at 375 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
  • Step 6
    Stir casserole every 30 minutes.
