Ingredients

  • 1 pound stew beef
  • 1 - medium potato, peeled and thickly sliced
  • 4 - carrots, peeled and chunked
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 6 ounces water
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon bacon bits
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can peas with juice

How To Make new hampshire stew

  • Step 1
    Place beef in bottom of 6-8 quart crockpot or slow cooker.
  • Step 2
    Cover with potatoes and carrots.
  • Step 3
    In medium large saucepan, place all remaining ingredients (except peas) and simmer until bubbly.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat and pour over meat and vgetables.
  • Step 5
    Cover and cook on high heat approximately 8 hours.
  • Step 6
    Add more water if necessary.
  • Step 7
    Add peas before serving.
  • Step 8
    Do not thicken.
