    stew beef
  • 1
    medium potato, peeled and thickly sliced
  • 4
    carrots, peeled and chunked
  • 1 pkg
    dry onion soup mix
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste
  • 6 oz
    water
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    bacon bits
  • 1/4 c
    maple syrup
  • 4 c
    water
  • 1 can(s)
    peas with juice

How to Make New Hampshire Stew

Step-by-Step

  1. Place beef in bottom of 6-8 quart crockpot or slow cooker.
  2. Cover with potatoes and carrots.
  3. In medium large saucepan, place all remaining ingredients (except peas) and simmer until bubbly.
  4. Remove from heat and pour over meat and vgetables.
  5. Cover and cook on high heat approximately 8 hours.
  6. Add more water if necessary.
  7. Add peas before serving.
  8. Do not thicken.
