celery ribs, sliced

pearl barley, uncooked

dill, dried

How to Make Mushroom-Barley Soup With Short Ribs


  • 1Place ribs, onion, garlic and celery in a soup pot; add the liquid, cover, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
  • 2Add the barley, dill, salt and pepper and cook another 50 minutes.
  • 3Add the mushrooms and cook another 10 minutes.
  • 4Serve piping hot.
  • 5NOTE: May use chicken stock instead of water.
