How to Make MOMA'S SOUP
- Cook Ground Beef till browned, drain off any fat, cut up yellow onion in small bite size cubes, add to beef, Then add the Rinsed yellow corn, green string beans, add the 2 cans of Diced Tomatoes, add 4 cups of water. Peel and cut up the Idaho Potatoes in to bite size pieces, rinse them off add to Soup.
Bring to Boil, then lower heat to a low simmer. I use Garlic salt and Black Pepper to season. When potatoes are soft the Soup is finished.
- When Fresh Vegetables are in Season I use White Lady Finger Peas,Green Butterbeans, Fresh Yellow Corn, Fresh New Red Potatoes, And Fresh Onions and Tomatoes, Cook time does not vary because the peas, green butter beans and tomatoes, and corn are in my freezer. Fresh Vegetables are always better, but I have found that when you rinse canned vegetables with cold water the taste a little better.
