Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 - egg, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons shorteneing
- 2 cups v-8 juice
- 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon basil leaves,crushed
- 1 can small whole potatoes, drained
- 2 tablespoons flour
How To Make meatball stew

Step 1In a bowl, mix thoroughly ground beef,bread crumbs,onion,egg and salt. Shape into 16 meatballs. In skillet, brown meatballs in shortening; pour off fat. Add 1 1/2 C. V-8 juice,carrots,sugar and basil. Cover; cook over low heat 15 minutes. Stir occassionally. Add potatoes, cook 5 minutes or until done. Blend remaining juice into flour until smooth, slowly stir into sauce. Cook, stirring until thickened.
