Ingredients For instant pot beef short rib pho

  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    beef short ribs
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 6 c
    beef broth
  • 6 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced ginger
  • 2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 1
    cinnamon stick
  • 2
    star anise
  • 10 oz
    rice noodles
  • TOPPINGS
  • sliced onions
  • fresh cilantro
  • bean sprouts
  • lemon or lime slices

How To Make instant pot beef short rib pho

    Select saute on Instant Pot Add olive oil. Season the ribs with salt and pepper. Place in Instant Pot and let sit undisturbed until browned on all sides. Stir in the tomato paste.

    Pour in the beef broth and add the garlic, ginger, vinegar, cinnamon stick, and star anise Secure lid and select pressure cook. Cook for 30 minutes.

    Remove the rib meat and transfer to a plate. Remove the cinnamon stick and star anise. Put through a fat separator and discard the fat. Add the broth back to the pot and select saute.

    Add the noodles and cook until noodles are tender, about 10 minutes. Place the meat back in and ladle into bowls.

    Top with onions, cilantro, bean sprouts and lemon or lime slices. Enjoy.
