Hearty Pasta Fagioll with Cannellini Beans

Sam & Kaye Allen

This is a very hearty soup that serves four people and you can freeze the left over soup, Optional-You can substitute beef stew meat instead of hamburger. For the hunters, I'm sure you could substitute wild game for the beef,I also like to add some fresh grape tomatoes when I add the diced tomatoes, enjoy! Sam

How to Make Hearty Pasta Fagioll with Cannellini Beans

  1. In a 5 quart stock pot bring to boil beef broth, undrained diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, celery, carrots, oregano, pepper & hot sauce.
  2. In a large skillet brown hamburger until all the pink is gone. Then add onions and cook until onions are clear (about 3-5 minutes
  3. Drain hamburger mixture and add to stock pot and bring to a boil. This is when I add this mixture to my 6 quart crock pot. Tip-Always heat all ingredients before adding to a crock pot. Never add cold ingredients to a hot ingredients in a crock pot! Do Not add cannellini beans at this time! Cook on high in crock pot or medium high on stove for 1 hour. Stir this mixture often to keep from burning on the bottom.
  4. After 1 hour add rinse & drained cannellini beans and cook for 1 hour on low in crock pot or simmer on stove. Stir often.
  5. After 1 hour add uncooked sea shell pasta to mixture. Cook 30 minutes or until shells are tender on low in crock pot or simmer on stove. Tip-Do not overcook shells. They will continue to cook after you turn the heat off.
