Ingredients
- 1 pound beef stew meat, cubed
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon beef bouillon
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 - medium carrots, pared, cut into chunks
- 2 - medium potatoes, pared, cut into chunks
- 2 - stalks celery, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 - medium onion, cut into wedges
- 6 small cabbage wedges

Step 1In large kettle or dutch oven, brown meat in oil.

Step 2Add water, bouillon and pepper.

Step 3Bring to a boil; reduce heat.

Step 4Cover and simmer for 1 hour.

Step 5Add remaining ingredients except cabbage; cover and simmer 30 minutes.

Step 6Add cabbage; cover and simmer 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

Step 7Refrigerate leftovers.
