My Mother made this soup since I was a little girl! I still make it today and have passed it down to my children through the years. This is a good and simple soup to have on a cold winter night.

How to Make Olive's Hamburger Soup


  1. Peel and cut patatoes into bite size pieces, peel and cut up onion into small pieces, then add to a pot. fill with water to cover the patatoes and cook until tender (but not falling apart). When patatoes are done ('do not drain the liquid') leave in the pot. add salt and pepper.
  2. Put hamburger in frying pan and brown and then drain the liquid off. Then add to pot with patatoes, then add tomato soup.
  3. Simmer for about 30 minutes. I butter some white bread and go for it...
