water

rice

How to Make Hamburg Soup

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown meat and onions in pan, stirring with fork to break up meat.
  • 2Add all vegetables except finely cut cabbage.
  • 3Add seasonings and meat to water in large pot.
  • 4Bring to boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • 5Add rice.
  • 6Simmer for 45 minutes.
  • 7Add cabbage, simmer another 45 minutes.
  • 8Stir frequently.
  • 9Serve with grated cheese.
