My family loves this soup. I love it because you get a good size portion with just one pound of meat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 pound canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 - bay leaf
  • 1 cup choped onion
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 - 10 oz. pkg mixed vegetables
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 - beef bouillon
  • 2 - celery stalks
  • 1 cup egg noodles
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme, dried

How To Make ground beef soup

  • Step 1
    In large saucepan, saute beef and onions until meat is well browned.
  • Step 2
    Add water, tomatoes, celery (chopped), salt, bouillon, and bay leaf. Add worcestershire sauce and pepper. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf!
  • Step 3
    Add mixed vegetables, noodles, and thyme. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
