Ingredients

    round steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 can(s)
    plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped, with juice
  • 1
    yellow onion, quartered
  • 4
    carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 4
    stalks celery, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1
    green bell pepper, seeded, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/4 c
    quick cooking tapioca
  • 1/2 c
    fine dried bread crumbs
  • 1 lb
    medium whole mushrooms
  • 1 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    freshly ground pepper
  • 1 c
    dry red wine

How to Make Family Stew

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 300 Or Pull Out Your Fav 4 Qt Crockpot
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large, lightly sprayed or oiled dutch oven or 4-quart casserole, stirring well to mix.
  3. Cover and bake for 4 hours; do not uncover while baking. Up To 8 Hours In Slow Cooker
