This recipe came about because I had a number of ingredients on hand with no specific plans for them, so I decided to invent something new. I also had a new slow cooker that I wanted to try out.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 3 pounds baby Yukon potatoes, cut in half
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 or 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 or 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 package Hidden Valley ranch seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes with juice
How To Make ellen's pantry stew

Step 1In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium heat, stirring frequently. Pour off the grease and add the meat to a slow cooker.

Step 2Add the potatoes, celery, green pepper, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir.

Step 3In a small bowl, mix together the bouillon cubes, a small amount of hot water, the ranch dressing mix, and Worcestershire sauce. Add to the slow cooker.

Step 4Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.

Step 5Add the tomatoes to the mixture and stir thoroughly.

Step 6Serve while hot and enjoy!
