EASY FRENCH ONION SOUP-stove top then broiled

You start with sliced onions then canned broth. Simmered on top of the stove, then under the broiler.
What could be simpler? and packed with great flavor.
I have enjoyed it many times, and I hope you will also.
2 cthinly sliced ...onions
3 ccanned beef broth
4 slicefrench bread,.... lightly toasted
1/3 cswiss cheese.......grated
1/2 cparmesan cheese.......grated
