Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1.5 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
  • 3 - chopped celery stalks
  • 2 - chopped onions
  • 2 - sliced carrots
  • 1 pound round steak, diced and browned
  • 2 cups tomatoes, canned
  • 2 tablespoons beef base
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup flour

How To Make crockpot steak soup

  • Step 1
    Put all ingredients in crockpot except for butter and flour.
  • Step 2
    Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
  • Step 3
    One hour before serving, turn on high.
  • Step 4
    Make a roux of 1 stick butter and 1/2 cup flour (melt butter in small saucepan, on med-low heat, and stir in flour); stir until smooth.
  • Step 5
    Pour into crockpot and stir into soup.
  • Step 6
    Cook soup on high until thickened.
