1.5 lbbeef stew meat

1 cantomato soup, optional

salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cparsley, fresh and chopped

1bay leaf

2 cwater

3 canbeef consomme

28 oztomatoes

3celery ribs, diced

4carrots
-
1minced garlic clove
-
1chopped onion
-
croutons, parmesan
How To Make classic beef and barley

1Brown beef onion and garlic in dutch oven or heavy kettle until meat is no longer pink.

2Add barley and remaining ingredients, except croutons.

3Cover and cook simmering 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

4Serve with garnish of toasted parmesan croutons and additional minced parsley.
