Stove Top


  • 2 lb
    beef top round steak, boneless
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 medium
    onion, coarsly chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced (or more) :o)
  • 2 large
    potatoes, chopped 1/2"-3/4"
  • 2 can(s)
    (lg cans) tomatoes
  • 2 can(s)
    whole green chilis chopped coarsly (or more)
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 2 1/2 c
    beef stock

How to Make Caldillo


  1. Cut meat into cubes ½”- ¾”. Brown well in the oil (medium high heat).
    Add flour, onion & garlic & continue browning about 10 min.
  2. Add remaining ingredients ~ Simmer 2-4 hrs.
  3. GREAT on a cold winter day!

    *You can cut up any steak for this – even leftover steak works well, you just don’t need to brown it, just begin where you add the flour, onion and garlic.
