Of course, the longer you cook this soup, the better the flavors mesh together. But, if you are cooking this stovetop, 3 hours should do it just fine. I also found that the tomato paste is not necessary, unless you like a thicker soup. Recipe can be doubled and frozen for future use.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 cups diced beef
  • 2 small diced onions
  • 2 small diced green peppers
  • 3 - diced carrots
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1 can crushed tomatos
  • 1 can tomato paste (if needed) to thicken
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds

How To Make beef goulash soup

  • Step 1
    Put all ingredients together either stove top or slow cooker, whichever is easier. When done, serve with a dollup of sour cream on top. Enjoy!
