Ingredients
- 1 - meaty ham bone or 2 ham hocks
- 1 package (16 oz.) split green peas
- 3 - carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 - ribs of celery plus leaves, chopped
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon lawry's season salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 1/2 quarts hot water
How To Make split pea & ham soup

Step 1Layer ingredients in slow cooker in the order given; pour in water. Do not stir ingredients. Cover and cook on HIGH 4 to 5 hours or on low 8 to 10 hours until peas are very soft.

Step 2Ladle a portion of the soup into a separate bowl. Mash or blend with a stick blender until smooth. Stir back into soup to thicken.

Step 3Cut meat from bones and add back into soup. Serve hot.
