Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

1
meaty ham bone or 2 ham hocks
1 pkg
(16 oz.) split green peas
3
carrots, peeled and sliced
1/2 c
onion, chopped
2
ribs of celery plus leaves, chopped
1
bay leaf
1 tsp
lawry's season salt
1/2 tsp
white pepper
1 1/2 qt
hot water

Step-By-Step

1Layer ingredients in slow cooker in the order given; pour in water. Do not stir ingredients. Cover and cook on HIGH 4 to 5 hours or on low 8 to 10 hours until peas are very soft.
2Ladle a portion of the soup into a separate bowl. Mash or blend with a stick blender until smooth. Stir back into soup to thicken.
3Cut meat from bones and add back into soup. Serve hot.
