Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken stock or broth
  • 6 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces kielbasa, cut in half lengthwise and then cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1 can 14.5 oz. can whole tomatoes, drained an chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 cup canned white cannellini beans, rinsed and drained

How To Make pressure cooker cabbage, bean & kielbasa soup

  • Step 1
    In a 6 qt. pressure cooker, heat the oil over medium heat. Add onion, celery and garlic and stir often until just softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Stir in chicken stock or broth, cabbage, sausage, tomatoes, thyme, salt & pepper.
  • Step 3
    Bring pressure cooker to pressure and cook 5 minutes. Use quick release to relieve pressure.
  • Step 4
    When pressure has been released, open lid and stir in beans and let them cook through. Season with additional salt & pepper to taste.
