Ingredients
- 1-2 ounce ham bones
- 1 can kidney beans, canned
- 2 medium potato
- 3 - carrot
- 1 large onion
- 1 can (16 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 can (16 oz.) crushed tomato canned
- 1 - portuguese sausage or other type of sausage
- 1 cup elbow macaroni
- 1 teaspoon salt or as you like
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 medium cabbage head
How To Make portuguese bean soup

Step 1Boil ham bone in enough water to cover bone. Cook until tender save stock.Stock will be reduced by about half. Bring stock to a boil and add all ingredients except cabbage.

Step 2Simmer 1-2 hours until all veggies are tender. Last half hour add cabbage and more salt and pepper if needed. Cook until cabbage is done.

Step 3Serve over hot rice or corn bread.
