Ingredients
- 1/2 pound bacon, chopped
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced thin & cut in half
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cups water
- 3 cans 16-oz. each butter beans, drain and rinse
- 1 can 15-oz. diced tomatoes with juice
- 1 can 12-oz. tomato paste
- 1 package 16-oz. okra, frozen sliced
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make okra and butter bean stew

Step 1In large pan, over medium heat cook bacon and sausage until bacon is crisp. Remove meat from pan and drain on paper towels. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the drippings. Cook onion and green pepper in drippings until tender. Add water, beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Add meat and cook 10 minutes longer. Add okra; cover and cook 10 minutes longer or until okra is tender.
