Ingredients

  • 1 pound navy beans
  • 1 teaspoon garlic pepper seasoning
  • 1/2 - chopped celery
  • 1 teaspoon sage or poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 2 ounces tomato paste

How To Make navy bean soup

  • Step 1
    Wash beans in cold water and soak for 10 minutes. Place beans in large pot. Add twice amount of cold water as substance. Bring water to a boil. Lower heat and cook beans for 10 minutes and skim off foam. Add vegetables bay leaf, garlic pepper seasoning, and sage. Cover pot; cook on low heat until beans are soft(at least one hour) Add additional cold water if you need more cooking time. Add tomato paste or crushed tomatoes.
