Ingredients
- 1 package snall white or northern beans
- 1 - ham bone with meat
- 2 - bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 - chicken bouillon cubes
- dash salt and pepper
- 4to5 - carrots diced
- 5 - potatoes diced
- dash celery seed or salt or raw celery
How To Make my other grandma's navy bean soup

Step 1Boil beans for 2 minutes. Then soak 1-2 hours

Step 2In a separate pot, simmer for 1 to 2 hours: Ham bone, bay leaves, garlic, salt & pepper,chicken bouillon, and celery seed or salt (or one raw celery).

Step 3After simmery the second pot of ingredients, add the beans to ham mixture. Simmer again for 1- 1 1/2 hours.

Step 4Add carrots and potatoes the last 40 minutes. Simmer until tender
