This is another one of my hearty soup recipes. Being from Northern Ohio winters were long and cold and soups were a staple. Add a pan of cornbread and enjoy.

Ingredients
- 3 cans 16-oz. each, large butter beans
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 stalks celery,chopped
- 2 cups cooked ham, chopped
- 1 can 16-oz. diced tomatoes
- 1 can ro-tel tomatos , hot or mild
How To Make hearty butter bean soup

Step 1Pour beans along with liquid into large pan. Add onions, celery, ham and the juice from the tomatoes. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1-1/2 hours. Add diced tomatoes and Ro-Tel. Simmer 30 minutes longer.

Step 2Note: This is another soup best made the day before and reheated to get the full flavor.
